ART INSTALLATION DEMYSTIFIED

The goal of the workshop is to give each participant the extra confidence required to design a successful art exhibit, and to understand the principles and practices involved with the overall installation of artwork in a professional exhibition context. This workshop will focus on the technical aspects of handling, transportation, disposition and installation of artwork. Practical advice intended to demystify the installation process will be provided, with examples and likely real-life scenarios.

Equipment and supplies will be discussed, with emphasis on good practices and safety within the exhibition space.

Paul Édouard Bourque trained as a painter and has been producing and exhibiting artwork since 1976. He was a technician at the Louise and Reuben Cohen Art Gallery for twenty five years. Bourque taught drawing at the Université de Moncton, and since 2016 has been very much involved in the arts community as a mentor and arts technician. He lives and works in Moncton, N.B.
