annual funding drive is hitting the airwaves
from October 23-29, 2016!
With humble beginnings on the UNB Saint John campus, our staff, volunteers and listeners have been celebrating all year long as Local 107.3FM nears the end of its 15th year as CFMH-FM and the 25th anniversary of Campus Radio Saint John. As a non-profit campus-based community radio station, the funding drive is Local-FM’s most important fundraising event of the year where we ask our listeners to show their support for independent volunteer-driven media in Saint John.
From Sunday, October 23, 2016 to Saturday, October 29, 2016, we ask listeners to give their favourite DJs a call at (506) 648-5925 to make a pledge of support. Donations can also be made online at localfm.ca/donate or by mail to:
100 Tucker Park Rd.
Saint John, N.B.
A donation of $20 or more is eligible for our new Local 107.3FM Friends Card. Supporters of Local-FM receive a donor card that includes discounts to many local businesses including Port City Royal, Heartbreak Boutique, Decimal 81, Backstreet Records, Real Food Connections, Thandi and Taco Pica.
That’s not all! Donations of $40 or more are not only eligible for the Friends Card, but donors will also receive a newly designed Local 107.3FM t-shirt created by local artist Ellen Higgins.
This year’s funding drive will be capped off, as always, with your Halloween plans sorted. The Local 107.3FM Annual Halloween Funding Drive Closing Show 2016 will take place on Saturday, October 29 at Peppers Pub and will feature local acts Right Shitty, Provincial Camps, and Jerry-Faye Flatt. Come out, dance, and support community radio in Saint John, NB!
Last year, funds raised were partially used for a revamp of our website which will include a responsive, mobile-friendly design; an integrated live streaming feed; a schedule calendar with mobile calendar integration; and an increase in local content. This is coming very soon (as in mere days)!
Our goal to raise $5000 this year will go primarily towards continuing to raise funds for larger projects including the installation of a transmitter on a new tower. This will greatly increase our broadcasting range within and beyond the Greater Saint John region.
Stay tuned for more details here and over the airwaves as we approach as funding drive week approaches.
With continued local love,
Your Friends At Local 107.3FM
