PROJECT SOUNDCHECK  

We are reaching out to see the level interest for a training workshop on sexual harassment & assault prevention in a bar or event setting. The training is called Project Soundcheck and is offered by Sexual Violence NB. //  Nous vous contactons pour voir le niveau d’intĂ©rĂȘt Ă  participer Ă  un atelier sur la prĂ©vention du harcĂšlement et des agressions sexuelles dans les Ă©vĂ©nements. Ça, c’est NoĂ«l” signale un retour pour l’artiste acadienne Julie AubĂ©, qui lance son premier single depuis  l’album “Joie de vivre” (2017). Ce single, qui dĂ©goutte de grelots et lait de poule, offre un “party dans la cuisine” au travers de vos écouteurs. Julie AubĂ© raconte dans ses mots les p’tites choses qui rendent NoĂ«l prĂ©cieux. Quatre salles de spectacle du Sud-Est du Nouveau-Brunswick coprĂ©sentent le spectacle-Ă©vĂ©nement 4 Salles InterconnectĂ©es le samedi, 16 janvier prochain à 19 h 30. Ce concept de spectacle a pris naissance grĂące Ă  un partenariat entre le Service Ă  la vie Ă©tudiante et socioculturelle de l’UniversitĂ© de Moncton, le ThĂ©Ăątre du Monument-Lefebvre, le Centre des arts et de la culture de Dieppe et le ThĂ©Ăątre Capitol, en collaboration avec Coup de cƓur francophone.  +++ info >

SNB plans for “Winter Delights”  

Symphony New Brunswick is preparing to perform concerts December 16, 18 and 19 if at all possible. If necessary, concerts will be pushed into January, with any tickets already purchased valid for any new date. Winter Delights promises to be a real delight for anyone that loves music, with special members of the NB orchestral community featured in this eclectic offering. +++ info >

Hip hop artist Go, Homeboy just released a video for The Tale of the Mixtape, a video for the title track to their upcoming album. Known to many on the Canadian east and west coast music scenes as Matt Walls, from Fredericton, N.B., Go, Homeboy! combines warm, down-tempo beats, with a unique style of clever, tongue-in-cheek, yet heartfelt lyricism, to create his own brand of wordplay based Hip Hop. +++ infos >

Fredericton chamber-pop duo Pallmer is releasing a video & new single “Quiet Clapping” on December 4th.  The video was filmed  back in August in a quiet lush corner of Fredericton where they routinely walk their pup; the video was art directed and filmed by visual artist Erin Goodine.  +++ info >

Robbie Tucker’s Holiday Album

It seems Canadian musician Robbie Tucker is becoming nostalgic. Tucker just released a new Christmas album aptly titled Peppermints. Tucker, who grew up loving music was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2005. His music, heavily influenced by Roy Orbison, Elvis Presley, and Paul McCartney proved to be his lifeline in the 2013 documentary Musically Medicated which focused on his music and struggles with medication during the first years following his diagnosis. +++ info >

Knitting for Animals

Open Strum is teaming up with the non-profit Comfort for Critters this December to help some pets! Comfort for Critters does amazing work by providing handmade blankets to pets living in animal shelters. In December, anyone who gives them a donation will receive Open Strum’s “Lion’s Drum” and an unreleased song as a gift. The donations need to be made directly to the non-profit, Open Strum will not accept any funds. More info: comfortforcritters.org
